A common food for this age group is porridge that includes rice flour. Whereas rice is the simplest cereal and causes no allergy, rice is considered as the first complementary food. Also, ready foods like BIOMIL CEREAL may be used.
Porridge
Ingredients
- Rice Flour 2 dessertspoons
- Sugar 1 dessertspoon
- Breast milk or formula Half glass
Recipe:
Mix cold milk with rice flour and sugar, put on a mild flame. Then, stir it continually till rice flour is cooked and densified. After boiling, mild heat for 5 to 10 minutes is usually enough for densification. When feeding by complementary food is started, porridge should be slightly denser than breast milk. Gradually, porridge’s density increased with their age.
Note: To preserve quality of vitamins, it is recommended that firstly cook rice flour and sugar with water and pick it up the flame with higher density. Then add breast milk or formula, blend the mixture to gain proper density.
Almond porridge
Ingredients
- Almond 5 nuts
- Rice flour 2 dessertspoons
- Sugar Half dessertspoon
- Breast milk or formula Half glass
Recipe:
Soak almond in boiled water for 1 hour to pill it easily. Then pour it in blender and add half glass of water and blend it quietly to be steady. Then place this in a bowl and add rice flour and sugar. Put the mixture on flame to be densified like porridge. When cooled, add breast milk or formula.
